Stella Cowan has a Master's degree in education with a focus in training and development. Ms. Cowan is a highly-skilled organizational development (OD) practitioner and seminar trainer/leader. She has 20 years’ experience in the OD field with expertise in needs assessment (organization and individual levels), curriculum design, organization effectiveness, change management, and talent development (including succession planning, formal mentoring, leader assessment centers, and one-on-one leader coaching). Ms. Cowan's professional history includes manager of employee development (Blue Care Network), leadership development specialist (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan), senior performance consultant (Plante and Moran), and learning system consultant (Development Dimensions International/DDI). Additionally, Ms. Cowan teaches management-related courses as an adjunct instructor at Spring Arbor University.
Dr. Hockman has a doctorate in education and psychology with a concentration on research design, statistics and measurement. She has taught statistics, research matters, and tests and measurement at the graduate level at Eastern Michigan University, Oakland University, Wayne State University, and the University of Michigan (U of M). At U of M, Dr. Hockman is currently an adjunct assistant professor in the School of Natural Resources and Environment, where her emphasis is on research in environmental justice. Dr. Hockman has also served as the director and major consultant for the Research Support Laboratory sponsored by the Computing and Information Technology division (later renamed Research Consulting).
